Created by designer Rudolf Jurnikl for the Sklo Union manufactory (Rudolfova Huť glassworks), this model embodies the clarity and boldness of the 1960s.
Its structure is based on a precise modular repetition of faceted blocks, creating an optical sculpture.

Brutalist Brilliance

Its bold geometry fits perfectly into the brutalist movement. The thick pressed glass (an impressive weight of over 1.1 kg for only 7 cm in width) offers exceptional crystalline radiance. It is a true "eye-catcher" that transforms light into architectural plays of shadow and reflection.

"Gallery Grade" Condition

Presented in a remarkable state of preservation (without chips or cracks), this example possesses perfect translucency. It is both mathematical and alive. Unlike many mid-century glass pieces, it does not seek to be decorative: it asserts itself through its structure. It is the type of piece one imagines on a minimalist office desk, between New York and London. It is a "foundation" piece for any serious collector of mid-century design."

Information

Manufactory: Rudolfova Huť, Sklo Union group (Czech Republic)
Design: Rudolf Jurnikl (Attributed), C.1963
Period: Circa 1960-1970
Material: High-clarity pressed art glass without the use of lead
Dimensions: Height 27 cm | Width 7 cm x 7 cm
Condition: Gallery Grade (Exceptional)
Weight: 1.127 kg

Package Contents

Cube Vase by Rudolf Jurnikl 1963
Certificate of Authenticity

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0927/4959/4958/files/rudolf-jurnikl-sklo-union-midcentury-brutalist-glass-vase_vase-verre-presse-monolithe-brutaliste-rudolf-jurnikl_7476HEROS.png?v=1787296489
