This model is a perfect example of the renewal of forms at Val Saint Lambert under the impetus of René Delvenne. While the manufactory was historically known for its geometric and classic cut pieces, this valet tray imposes a fluid, almost aerodynamic organic line, typical of Space Age design.
If the Ruby Red version embodies warmth and boldness, this Emerald Green variation (sometimes called Moorish Green in the crystal factory's catalogs) plays the card of absolute elegance and mineral freshness. This piece is the perfect illustration of René Delvenne's organic genius in the 60s.
The market for "small crystals" from the 60s (ashtrays, bowls, valet trays) is experiencing very strong momentum for three major reasons:
